Cedrina, our generation 1 heir and matriarch, has died after living a long and happy life. She is buried beside her husband Abraham who is the father of their children.
Before moving on to my story I have a rather interesting development to tell you about. Oh...this is Amber by the way. I am the generation 3 heir, and it seems best that I should talk about it myself.
My parents, Rosalie and Brett, have decided to give their relationship another go. You may remember many years ago they were engaged but the wedding was called off. I don't know all the details other than there were years of hard feelings and little communication between the two of them.
He went on to marry a woman much older than himself named Bess. She has since died of old age and now the two of them have decided to get back together. At least they are taking some cautious steps towards actually getting married this time around. I am happy for them, and it will be interesting to see if the time is finally right for that to happen.
Back to my story. I am Amber. Generation 3 of this legacy. My favorite color is yellow. I am a teenager and am a loner and a bit clumsy. My dream is to be the best astronaut possible and to visit the planet Sixam. My grandmother was a scientist as you know, and she spoke often of aliens. She was even abducted more than once believe it or not! So I have dreams of this.
There have once again been many changes occurring within the family. My Uncle Roger is married to a woman named Christy Delgato Berri. She has a child named Serenity Delgato who is Roger's stepdaughter. They want to have children of their own so there will likely be more changes within the Berri family in the near future.
I have decided to move into my own tiny home in Oasis Springs. I have heard this is an excellent environment for one who is searching skies for alien life and there have been rumors of alien sightings in this desert town. I do hope so!
I have purchased a rocket ship and have begun to build it. I'm sure it will take a long time to complete this.
I am quite good at working with wood now and am able to create some quite nice items. This has been a major source of my income. I found out it takes money and a lot of work and effort to be grown up and live on your own. It's worth it though.
I am pretty close to maxing out my handiness skill.
Don't worry. I continue to go to high school and am making very good grades. My education is a priority. Mom has made it clear if I don't keep up my 'A' average, I will be packing up and moving back to the main Berri home. I am working hard. She often stops by to help me with my homework and check up on me.
I rather like my tiny home. It is surprisingly quite affordable, and I have all the isolation and solitude I need to do the things I enjoy.... reading, woodworking, building my rocket ship. It has proven to be a very good decision for me to move here.
I do love and miss my family and visit them when I can. Today is Winterfest. I have decided to have them all over for a little dinner and celebration.
It was a fun time to have all the family together on this day. In case you are wondering, the unfamiliar dark-haired guy is a school friend of mine whom I invited to join us. His name is Jason Knowles. He is probably the only friend I have outside of my family.
